Rating: 5/5

Creepshow is the brainchild of director George A. Romero and writer Stephen King. Heavily influenced by the EC comics of the 1950′s, such as Tales from the Crypt, Creepshow contains five tales of horror and terror that will keep you coming back again and again. Each segment not only brings the viewer into the world of EC comics, but it also shows us what can be accomplished when two great minds, like Romero and King, come together with one purpose, to terrorize and entertain at the same time.  In an effort to bring the comic aspect to life in the film, some scenes use framing elements commonly found in comic books. It’s a nice touch and I felt it added to the dynamic of the film. Each segment ends with the live action freezing then changing into a comic book drawing, which is another welcome addition to the film. The music score throughout the film is great, however, it  does contain a touch of 1980′s cheesiness so common to horror films of this era, but it’s not much of a distraction.
